If you’ve ever felt mentally exhausted before you even get out of bed, you might be carrying more mental clutter than you realize.
Midlife is FULL of thoughts we don’t need to be holding onto:
🚩 Worry about things we can’t control.
🚩 Guilt about what we “should” be doing.
🚩 Perfectionism and the pressure to have it all figured out.
🚩 Overanalyzing past conversations.
🚩 A never-ending mental to-do list that lives rent-free in our brains.
Sound familiar?
The problem: Our minds weren’t meant to hold ALL of this information at once. And when we try, we end up feeling scattered, stressed, and stuck.
But the good news? Clearing mental clutter is totally possible.
💡 Step 1: Write It Down—Your Brain is NOT a Storage Unit
Journaling is one of the fastest ways to clear your mind.
Take 5 minutes each morning to brain dump your thoughts—no editing, just writing.
Make a “Worry List”—then cross out anything you can’t control.
Use a gratitude journal to shift focus from overthinking → to appreciating.

💡 Step 2: Create “Mental Boundaries”
Not every thought needs immediate attention.
✔️ Set a time for worry (15 minutes a day to stress about things—and then let them go).
✔️ Reduce decision fatigue (meal plan simple foods, create routines, stop overthinking small choices).
✔️ Turn off notifications—because your brain doesn’t need to be constantly interrupted.
💡 Step 3: Do a “Brain Reset” With Meditation & Breathwork
Your brain needs time to process and reset.
✔️ Try box breathing (inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 6).
✔️ Do a 5-minute guided meditation (check out my Meditation Guide for an easy way to start).
✔️ Take a 10-minute walk with NO distractions—no podcast, no music, just breathing and moving.
🚨 If your brain feels overloaded, it’s BEGGING you to slow down.
